Holiday Tree Gala

This year the Town of Suffield will usher in the holiday season with a new program for the whole family—Holiday Tree Gala.

Bee Keeping with Andrew Preissner

The Suffield Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting, in the evening, on Monday, October 1 at 5:45 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall, 100 North Main Street.

Halloween Fun at the Trolley Museum

The Connecticut Trolley Museum will once again be hosting its popular Halloween events, Pumpkin Patch & Rails to the Darkside. These two fundraising events are extremely important to funding the museum’s many family programs.

This event is held with the help of the Shaker Pines Fire Dept. who add a whole new dimension to the frightfulness of the evening. The Fire Department also benefits from tickets sales with a portion of each ticket sold going to them. As the fall chill fills the air, on the darkest of nights, mournful cries of the abandoned dead are heard on the tracks at the Connecticut Trolley Museum.

Feather & Bloom

Feather & Bloom has reopened at 122 Mountain Road. It is near Windsor Federal Savings and The Second Chance Shop. This is, perhaps, an opinion piece rather than a journalistic story because I found myself charmed by the environment and its products. I took a nosy walk-through last week, before the grand opening. The inviting space is filled with green plants, lots of cut flowers from nosegays to bouquets, framed floral photography, vases and “shabby chic” planters.
