The Observer’s peripatetic photographer happened upon one of the Parks & Rec Department’s summer camps in late July and stayed to watch. This year the summer camps were significantly affected by the required COVID-19 behavior standards.
February concluded our youth basketball season with Suffield Parks and Recreation. As my first season of basketball comes to a close, I am very thankful to be able to have worked with so many dedicated volunteers, staff and coaches.

Suffield Parks and Recreation’s 40th Annual Road Race was held on Saturday, September 7. The weather was ideal for the runners and walkers that helped make this year a success!
The highly anticipated season end banquet for the Parks and Recreation Bowling Buddies and Bowling Buddies Jr. Group was held at Sunrise Park on Wednesday, May 15. The Pavilion was transformed into a “Tiki Hut” with our beach themed BBQ and Party.
The Suffield Parks and Recreation Department’s Bowling Buddies group and families celebrated at their annual Holiday Banquet on Tuesday, December 18. It was held again this year at the Suffield Country Club’s Sunset Tavern.
The Parks and Recreation Department is offering an entry-level course intended to teach age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages using team babysitting, mother’s helper and individual babysitting concepts. The course focuses on safety with emphasis on prevention.
Get fit and have fun! We have a variety of fun, new programs for Youth and families this winter and spring at the Parks and Recreation Department.
