Due to COVID-19 voters were requested to practice social distancing, wear face masks and sanitize their hands at the polls to help ensure the safety of others. Every voter entering the polls respected the first two requests and most the third.
A big SHOUT-OUT to our emergency responders – especially the Highway Department – for extraordinary efforts during Tropical Storm Isaias to reopen roads and aid in restoring power. For seven days straight, they got the job done. Thank you!

On April 7, dozens of voters in Wisconsin contracted COVID-19 when they voted in-person. On November 3, CT residents may risk that outcome.
In February 2020, most Suffield students had found themselves continuing to endure a busy and demanding schedule, on track to finish the school year strong; however, Covid-19 suddenly put the year on pause, instilling boredom, fear and loneliness in many.
The brief, severe, spotty wind storm that hit the western part of Connecticut on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 4, was just about everything it was forecast to be when Tropical Storm Isaias passed by on its way north. Everything, that is, but rain, and that’s something we really needed — there were only a few sprinkles.
Social distancing is anything but a new protocol for long-haul truck drivers, we’ve been doing it for decades. In fact, working alone is what brings some people to the job.
