The Observer’s peripatetic photographer happened upon one of the Parks & Rec Department’s summer camps in late July and stayed to watch. This year the summer camps were significantly affected by the required COVID-19 behavior standards.
Even though Connecticut is in Phase 2 of our reopening, with Phase 3 currently on hold, older adults and individuals with chronic health conditions are being asked to stay home and stay safe.

Due to COVID-19 voters were requested to practice social distancing, wear face masks and sanitize their hands at the polls to help ensure the safety of others. Every voter entering the polls respected the first two requests and most the third.
A Close Count Recount was scheduled for 8 a.m. Tuesday, August 18 in the Middle School Gym.
It’s not the big parade we had been looking forward to, but we can still have fun while maintaining a social distance!
The town is taking steps to demolish Bridge Street School. In 2015, when the town approved at referendum to bond renovations to Bridge Street School and convert it to a community center, there were expectations that this would be accomplished.
