Book Collection Takes Off

On Saturday, May 1, the Friends of Kent Memorial held their first book collection in over a year due to the pandemic. It was obvious that many Suffield residents had been waiting patiently for us to come “on line” and begin collecting again, because many, many people drove to the library and lined up to unload boxes and bags and armfuls of books during our two-hour collection time.

Kent Memorial Library Books and Beyond Series

Kent Memorial Library’s “Books & Beyond” series continues on June 10 with New York Times bestselling author Ashley Audrain, who will be discussing her debut novel The Push. Ashley is a native of Canada and will be joining us from Toronto, where she currently resides with her family.

Friends of KML Look at Bylaws

The Friends’ June 7 meeting will include a discussion regarding the proposed change of the Friends annual meeting from April to October. Because this is a change in by-laws, it must be a vote of the Friends membership.

A Taste of Bluegrass

A Taste of Bluegrass is a special one-day show presented by Podunk at Hilltop Farm, site of the of the Former Paddle Faster Bluegrass Festival. The farm is located at 1616 Mapleton Ave., route 159, in Suffield, Conn.

Enfield Loaves & Fishes Needs Volunteers

Enfield Loaves & Fishes (Soup Kitchen) needs help Monday through Fridays any time between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. We also need volunteers for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with a truck or a van to pick up food, etc. at local stores.

Short But Sweet Successful Wildcat Season

The season came to a fantastic end for the Wildcats, who took home the CCC Championship title after defeating the Simsbury Trojans on Friday, March 26, ending in a 3 -2 overtime vistory.
