Enthusiastic celebrators gathered in the Suffield High School parking lot on a lovely fall afternoon, Sunday, October 11, for an anniversary car parade.

With the support of a $24,740 grant from the Amiel P. Zak Public Service Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Suffield 350th Anniversary Committee produced the film, “Our Town: The Story of Suffield, Connecticut. Est. 1670.”
Renovation work is reported to be making good progress at the Suffield Town Hall, a great deal of it taking place inside, out of sight. The October 15 meeting of the Permanent Building Commission, which was held in a hybrid fashion with several members together at the West Suffield Fire Station and others participating by Zoom, heard Gilbane Construction project manager Jonathan Moulton review the work.
Although some production problems have slowed our date of delivery, the book, Suffield Stories From Another Half-Century – 1970-2020, one part of the town’s 350th anniversary celebration is still available to pre-order on the 350th website.
The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has recently established the Greater Together Community Fund designed to benefit 29 Connecticut towns, Suffield among them.
The Parks and Recreation Department has continued to offer a variety of new, engaging and fun programs during the fall for families to enjoy after a very busy and enriching summer.
