The COVID 19 Pandemic hit my business fast and hard. In the early stages of this virus, the media, health institutions, and appointed officials viewed this issue as just another ordinary virus.

The 2020 Dog license for renewal will be available now. Residents are encouraged to renew licenses online to support no contact/social distance requirements.
August 4 is the deadline for mail-in and on-line voter registrations and political party enrollments. Note that there is a three-month waiting period, when switching from one political party to another, before attaining voting privileges in the new political party.
I visited Sunrise Park three months after retiring as the park superintendent. I noticed that behind the house and barn, all the shrubs and bushes were removed. My first response was “WOW, how nice this looks.”
After recent difficult months, I am delighted to share great news! The Town Hall project will break ground in July, at a total cost of $5.116M.

At our recent Suffield Democratic Town Committee meeting we had a great discussion about voter access for the August presidential primary and November general elections. We voted to approve the following resolution unanimously:
Well, we are back. With this July edition and an August edition planned to follow (rather than our customary single summer edition), we happily return to our printing roots.
Every year, in most school districts, there is a day that is given to celebrating the 13 year journey of learning and academic achievement with an age old rite of passage—graduation. Graduation in Suffield has always been about graduates marching out onto the athletic field at the high school to Pomp and Circumstance in white and blue caps and gowns.
Wednesday, June 17, 2020 marks Phase 2 of the State of Connecticut Reopening. We share everybody’s relief and enthusiasm as we begin to get things up and running again.

The first Saturday in May wasn’t so great, but Sunday was just delightful, and many folks took to the town’s trails and fields and water.

COVID-19 has created challenges for every resident of Suffield, causing us to adapt to a new normal. Similarly, the Board of Finance has had to make changes to our budget approval process.
Luminous Letter Company brought some light into the lives of our local health care workers in May.
One of the items discussed at the Selectmen’s meeting on May 20 was the new guard rail running for 250 feet along Hill Street in front of the First Baptist Church.
The Town of Suffield is now partnering with the Towns of Avon, Canton, Granby, Simsbury and Farmington to provide Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days.
